Andrew Dodge

Andy Dodge joined Cardiff University in 2013 in the role of Employability and Placements Manager at Cardiff School of Social Sciences (SOCSI). He heads up employability and placement initiatives within the School of Social Sciences and across the University. (SOCSI offers degree pathways in Education, Criminology, Social Sciences, Sociology and Social Policy).
Andy has considerable experience in all aspects of the education, training and employability agendas particularly focussed on 16 – 24 year olds. Prior to joining Cardiff University, Andy worked for National Training Federation Wales (NTFW). The Federation is a pan-Wales membership organisation of over 100 members including independent training providers and FE institutions (together with their associated delivery partners/sub-contractors), local authority training departments and third sector organisations. These organisations provide vocational qualifications and other school based work based learning pathway programmes, pre-employment training and Apprenticeship frameworks throughout Wales. Before the NTFW, Andy worked as a teacher for 18 years in the both the FE and secondary sectors. He worked in a number of institutions across South Wales becoming Deputy Head for two years in his last teaching role.
